Republican Senator Thom Tillis enrages MAGA world by calling for a full investigation into the brutal killing of Alex Pretti as the Trump administration smears the innocent nurse as a "terrorist."

And he's not the only one speaking out...

"There must be a thorough and impartial investigation into yesterday’s Minneapolis shooting, which is the basic standard that law enforcement and the American people expect following any officer-involved shooting," Tillis wrote on X on Saturday.

"For this specific incident, that requires cooperation and transparency between federal, state, and local law enforcement," he added. '"Any administration official who rushes to judgment and tries to shut down an investigation before it begins are doing an incredible disservice to the nation and to President Trump’s legacy.

Tillis is not running for reelection, which explains in part why he's unafraid to display some moral backbone unlike so many others in his party.

Border Patrol Chief Greg Bovino has already stated that all of the agents involved in Pretti's murder are still employed and have simply been transferred out of Minneapolis or placed on administrative duty. Given the White House's efforts to protect these violent thugs as Stephen Miller and Kristi Noem attempt to character assassinate Pretti, it's clear that the administration has no interest in pursuing justice. They're treating this murder as a political football.

A federal judge has already stepped in and blocked the administration from "destroying or altering evidence," which just shows you how low expectations are that the feds will actually do their job. We are dealing with the most corrupt, criminal president in history. He will do anything to advance his own interests.

In addition to Tillis, Republican Senator Lisa Murkowski is also calling for a full investigation—

"The tragedy and chaos the country is witnessing in Minneapolis is shocking," she wrote on X. "The killing yesterday of Alex Pretti, a U.S. citizen, by ICE agents should raise serious questions within the administration about the adequacy of immigration-enforcement training and the instructions officers are given on carrying out their mission."

"Lawfully carrying a firearm does not justify federal agents killing an American—especially, as video footage appears to show, after the victim had been disarmed," she continued. "A comprehensive, independent investigation of the shooting must be conducted in order to rebuild trust and Congressional committees need to hold hearings and do their oversight work. ICE agents do not have carte blanche in carrying out their duties."

It's possible that we'll see more Republican lawmakers jump ship from the MAGA marching orders to support an investigation in the coming days. They know that Trump is deeply unpopular and that the entire country saw the video of his fascist enforcers executing Pretti. There is no way to defend this killing. We must seek justice for Alex Pretti.
