Trump says the quiet part out loud - "I want to drive housing prices up" for the rich, and screw everyone else.

Donald Trump just did what he does best - bragged about rigging the system and dared struggling Americans to like it.

At a cabinet meeting dripping with entitlement, Trump openly declared that his housing policy is designed to keep homeowners "wealthy" and prices "up," while sneering at anyone who doesn-t already own property. So, if you-re locked out of the housing market, that-s your problem - and Trump thinks that maybe you "didn-t work very hard."

Yes, he actually said that!

"We-re not going to destroy the value of their homes," Trump proclaimed, as if affordable housing were a personal attack on the feelings of the already comfortable. He framed skyrocketing home prices not as a crisis, but as a confidence booster for people who "for the first time in their lives, feel good about themselves" because they think they-re rich.

Not because wages rose.
Not because healthcare became affordable.
But because their house is worth more - on paper.

Trump made it crystal clear: housing is not shelter. It-s a status symbol. And protecting that illusion matters more than helping teachers, nurses, veterans, or young families buy their first home.

He even mocked the idea of lowering prices, sneering at the notion that housing policy should help "somebody that didn-t work very hard." This from a man born into wealth who made a career out of stiffing contractors, declaring bankruptcy, and presiding over a racist real estate company that discriminated against anyone who wasn-t White.

The cruelty isn-t accidental. It-s the point.

Trump promised to "get interest rates down" while simultaneously swearing he will never allow prices to fall - an economic fairy tale that benefits Wall Street investors and locks an entire generation into permanent rent. It-s trickle-down housing policy: hoard the wealth, dangle false hope, and blame the poor.

This wasn-t a slip. It was a confession.

Trump doesn-t want an America where everyone can build stability. He wants an America where a shrinking group feels "wealthy" while everyone else is told to stop whining and work harder.

Housing is a human need. Trump treats it like a trophy. And today, he made it unmistakably clear who he thinks deserves one - and who never will.
