Three-time Trump voter jumps ship over his racist Obamas ape post - "I'M A REPUBLICAN - AND I'M ASHAMED."

A lifelong Republican just said out loud what millions are thinking - and he did it live on C-SPAN.

Calling into the network after Donald Trump posted a grotesque, racist image depicting Barack Obama and Michelle Obama as monkeys, a man named John didn't mince words. He apologized. To everyone.

"What an embarrassment to our country," John said. "All this man does is tell lies. He is not worthy of the presidency."

This wasn't a Democrat. This wasn't a "liberal activist." John made a point of saying he's a registered Republican, raised in the party, the son of a major industry leader. He voted for Donald Trump - not once, not twice, but three times.

And now? He's done.

John called Trump out for taking bribes "blatantly," for stoking racism "blatantly," and for unleashing terror through immigration raids that target schools and families instead of "dangerous criminals."

"They were not supposed to go after small children," he said. "Storm schools. Bring terror upon the little kids, and the women, and children. All the children are scared."

When the C-SPAN host asked whether he'd really voted for Trump in all three elections, John owned it - and admitted he was fooled by promises of jobs and prosperity. In his home state of New Mexico, he said, jobs are gone, healthcare is collapsing, and people can't even find a primary care doctor.

"I was sucked into the stupidity," he said.

That's the sound of a spell breaking.

Trump's defenders like to pretend the backlash only comes from "the left." But moments like this tell a different story: the cruelty, the racism, the chaos - it's finally too much even for people who once believed.

John ended with a simple, devastating act: an apology to the country for supporting "this rotten, rotten man."

It wasn't scripted. It wasn't partisan. It was conscience - finally speaking up.
