HERE COMES THE FOREVER WAR! Trump sends 2,500 marines to the Middle East in the latest sign of terrifying escalation in his illegal war against Iran!

The Pentagon is deploying a Marine Expeditionary Unit - up to 2,500 soldiers - to the Middle East. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth approved the request from the U.S. Central Command after Iran ramped up attacks on commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz. The Marines are believed to be coming from the Air Ground Combat Center in Twentynine Palms, California.

This marks a MAJOR escalation that just about everyone in the administration was denying: after weeks of claiming the Iran war would stay an air campaign, the administration is now moving significant ground forces into position amid Iran's blockade and strikes on tankers and cargo ships.

The move comes as the unapproved, illegal conflict has already killed seven U.S. troops, more than a thousands Iranians including a school full of girls, upended the world economy, and by just about every measure appears to be spiraling out of control.

Trump repeatedly promised "no boots on the ground" and called the war a "little excursion," but Hegseth and the Pentagon are quietly shifting to ground capabilities as Iran promises more retaliation.

This is about the opposite of "ahead of schedule" - it's "mission creep" toward a full-scale invasion, exactly what critics warned about from day one.

With oil prices soaring, ships sinking, and now Marines heading toward Iran, the administration's "energy dominance" plan is looking more like endless war than quick victory.
