Trump bragged about negotiating the "world's lowest" drug prices -reporters just exposed the truth. Donald Trump promised Americans something huge: the "world's lowest" prescription drug prices. He even built a flashy website - TrumpRx - and claimed his policies had taken drug prices from the highest in the world to the lowest. There's just one problem. The numbers don't back him up. A detailed investigation by The New York Times and international journalists compared TrumpRx prices with what patients pay overseas. The result? Americans are still paying far more than people in other wealthy countries. Take Germany, for instance. Patients there typically pay just a small fee - about $11 - for prescription drugs, because the national health system covers most of the cost. And when researchers compared actual negotiated prices, Germany's prices were lower more often than not for the same medications listed on TrumpRx. Sometimes the difference is staggering. For one hormone treatment for children with growth disorders, American families using TrumpRx could pay $2,700 more per month than what Germany's health system pays. And the blockbuster weight-loss drugs Trump likes to brag about? Those aren't the cheapest either. Reporters visited pharmacies across eight wealthy countries and compared prices for Wegovy and Zepbound. Even after Trump's negotiations lowered U.S. prices somewhat, American patients were still paying among the highest prices in the world. Japan, meanwhile, had the lowest prices. Experts say the president's sweeping claims simply don't hold up. "The claim that Americans are getting the best deal is clearly false," said Harvard pharmaceutical policy researcher Ameet Sarpatwari. "It is very easy to mislead the public about drug costs." In other words, Trump identified a real problem - Americans pay too much for medication. But his promise that he solved it? That appears to be yet another lie from the most deceitful president we've ever had. While the president boasts about "world-lowest" drug prices, the reality is that millions of Americans are still paying hundreds or thousands more than patients overseas. And no amount of political spin can change the math. Please like and share!
