Michael Cohen attorneys release new Trump allegations

Michael Cohen's legal team has released a 12-page memo it provided to House Democrats Thursday. The memo outlines evidence of what his team describes as "Trump's involvement in a conspiracy to collude with Russian government intervention in his favor during the 2016 presidential campaign" and "other felony crimes committed by Trump before and after he became president."

On Wednesday, the House Judiciary Committee approved a subpoena for the full, unredacted report into the 2016 election.
House Democrats have asked the IRS to release six years of President Trump's personal and business tax returns.
President Trump backed off his threat to close the border between the U.S. and Mexico.

"We're going to give them a one-year warning, and if the drugs don't stop or largely stop, we're going to put tariffs on Mexico and products, particularly cars. And if that doesn't stop the drugs, we close the border," he said in a press conference on Thursday.
We spoke with El Paso mayor Dee Margo earlier this week about the crisis at the southern border. He told us closing the border would "be an economic crippler back and forth. About 50,000 employees cross over daily from Mexico to El Paso."
JuliÃ¡n Aguilar of The Texas Tribune also weighed in on the ramifications. He said in 2018, El Paso did $78 billion worth of trade across border -- but closing it wouldn't just affect economics. "This is gonna hit the whole social fabric of the border. Folks in my family still live in Juarez and come back across," he told us.

A new report absolved Ethiopian Air pilots of responsibility in a recent deadly crash involving the Boeing 737 Max planes. The report says the pilots followed protocol and its release follows several weeks of concern about how these planes are regulated and tested for safety.
Of course, we also will check in on the ongoing fracas over Brexit. This digital producer's mother asked her yesterday what was going on. It's hard to parse whether the U.K. will leave the European Union without a deal or not. This week, Prime Minister Theresa May worked with opposition leader Jeremy Corbyn to try to work out a deal that will pass in Parliament.

On September 11, 2001, 19 terrorists attacked the Unites States. They hijacked four airplanes in mid-flight. The terrorists flew two of the planes into two skyscrapers at the World Trade Center in New York City. The impact caused the buildings to catch fire and collapse. Another plane destroyed part of the Pentagon (the U.S. military headquarters) in Arlington, Virginia. The fourth plane crashed in Shanksville, Pennsylvania. Officials believe that the terrorists on that plane intended to destroy either the White House or the U.S. Capitol. Passengers on the plane fought the terrorists and prevented them from reaching their goal. In all, nearly 3,000 people were killed in the 9/11 attacks.
